Open Source Quadcopter

I call this the Open Source Quadcopter because just about all the hardware on it runs open source software.  Some of the hardware is even open source!

Here is a basic breakdown of the hardware and software which I used on this project:


  • Flight Controller:  HobbyKing 328p MultiWii Board
  • OSD: Minim OSD with KVTeam Firmware (which I contributed to)
  • I2C-GPS-Nav board
  • 5.8Ghz real time video down-link
  • OpenLRS transceivers for radio control and real time monitoring and tracking
  • Motors: HexTronik DT700
  • ESCs: Turnigy Multistar 20Amp
  • Props: Slow Fly Electric Prop 11X4.7SF
  • Battery: Turnigy 3000mAh 3S 30C Lipo
